"Open Up Your Hearts To Tru Sol." That is the motto of this four member R&B group hailing from Jersey City, New Jersey. The group is made up of members: Notez, Vocalz, Teddy B, and Mello. In today's music, while the true R&B sound is fading away, this group succeeds in preserving that famous "90's R&B sound,"while adding their own imprint into the genre. They look up to groups such as Boyz II Men, Jagged Edge, Jodeci, and Dru Hill. They also like the current day artists such Neyo and Musiq Soulchild.
Tru Sol has opened up for famous acts such as Keith Sweat, Next, and Silk. They have done numerous local shows in New Jersey and New York. The group has a five song EP out called "Worth Tha Wait," and is currently working on its full-length album entitled, "Love Therapy," due later this year. I have their first EP and I am anxious to see how much growth they have shown between projects.

When I listen to them they remind me of a true R&B group. Most people in the genre today, are individual acts, and many of them are watered down with commercial material. I respect Tru Sol for sticking to what they believe in and attempting to revive the true essence of R&B. They have come from singing in malls and NYC subways to opening up for celebrities. I would like to see the grind payoff for them.
The upcoming album, "Love Therapy," is lead by two singles. The first single was "Chocolate Sweet," followed by "Gotta be Love." Their first album was great and I have been on needles waiting for the second album LOVE THERAPY. Between the 2 singles, GOTTA BE LOVE is my favorite. In one of their latest performances, even members of the group Silk shouted out how great these guys sound!!
I've seen Tru Sol perform a couple of times and they are really talented. I really miss R&B like this.

It's been a while since true R&B has been on the scene but Tru Sol is definitely bringing it back!! With their smoothe flow and gorgeous harmonies, Tru Sol is filling a void in the realm of music. I did a piece on them last November and have since been so fortunate enough to get behind-the-scenes access into their world. I'm telling you, you will never meet a more grounded, humbled and talented group of men! I feel like I'm known them for years and hopefully soon, I'll be able to meet them in person. 90s R&B is back baby!!! Continue sharing your love of music with the world fellas!! *oxox*
TruSol is definitely a group that should be recognized. Four very talented young men, with extraordinary voices that compliments each others so well. I truly enjoyed your performance in Jacksonville, Fl where you guys performed along with Keith Sweat & Silk. You guys killed the stage!!! I'm also enjoying your cd "Worth Tha Wait". "3AM" is one of my favorite track. "Gotta Be Love" is right behind it. I can't wait for the release of "Love Therapy". I'm sure its going to be full of exceptional music.
